May Inspiration Card for the Clever Dexter Challenge

 

Today it's my turn to to share a little bit of extra inspiration for this month's Clever Dexter Challenge.

For today's card I decided to use my alcohol ink markers to do some blending.  I use Promarkers and to colour my image I used three shades of pink and two shades of green.

The beautiful image I've used is called 'Just Wonderful Floral Slimline Card Panel' and can be found here.

For this card I used 'Primrose, the Darling Buds' to make my card.

For my background I applied a water colour wash to white card and then spritzed it with water before stamping on to the card with the same colour.

I've made another watercolour background for my card.  This time I sprayed watercolour card with water and then brushed on pink ink to create a wash.  Then I placed a stencil over the top and added some more ink to give the background pattern.

Clever Dexter Challenge Inspiration - Use Watercolour

Today I'm sharing a little bit of extra sweetness for April!

Here's another view of my card:

For today's card I made a watercolour background using pink ink.  First of all I gave the card a wash of colour using ink and water and then I flicked water onto it and dabbed it with paper towel.  Finally I added some Wink of Stella and brushed this with a damp paintbrush to give a shimmer - not easy to pick up on photos!

The digi stamp I used is called 'Cherry Cream Cupcake' and can be found here on the Polkadoodles website.  I coloured the image with Promarkers.

Clever Dexter Challenge February Inspiration Post

 

Today I'm sharing February inspiration card for the Clever Dexter Challenge - you still have a short time left to link up a card this month.

For today's card I've used the spotlight technique - perfect when you want to colour an image quickly or if you're not too confident colouring large images.

The image I've used is called 'Winter Garden A2 Card Panel digi and can be found here.

Traditionally most people 'spotlight' one part of the image but I like to do two pieces to balance the design.

I die cut two circles out of the main image, coloured them with my Promarkers and then put each one on to a circle of black paper.  You simply place the coloured in circle over the part of the image from where it has been removed.
