New Through the Craft Room Door Magazine


Happy New Year and welcome to a new issue of Through the Craft Room Door!
This issue, our Featured Digi Artist is Mary Smith of Create-ful Hearts Digis & Design. Mary, along with her partner husband opened their store in February of 2017 and have developed quite a following with their Facebook page and blog challenge.
The special challenge for January-February is up-cycling ... we’d like to see something that would normally be thrown away turned into something useful!
Our theme this issue is Easter/Spring, Friendship and Pigs! (Yes pigs, because they are cute!)
We also have 100plus inspiration card/projects for your viewing pleasure and our Designers have created an array of interesting and informative tutorials from jewelry making to mix media techniques that even a beginner can do with confidence!
So come check us out!

Today I'm joining the new Design Team for Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge:


The challenge are weekly on a Friday and are always Christmas based.

I've used the centre panel from an old Christmas card - I put some paper from a Trimcraft pad behind the paper cutting and then added more paper and some silver mirri foil to match the panel.

I've made another card with the 'Flurry of Wishes' stamp set from Stampin' Up.  I stamped the snowflakes and the verse in Versamark Ink and then used detail gold embossing powder.

Inspiration Post for Sunsational Stamps


Today it's my turn to showcase a card on the Sunsational Stamps blog and I'm sharing a last minute Christmas card - just in case you haven't made all that you need yet!

I've used the tree stamp from the 'Elf With Tree' set which you can find here.

I stamped the tree on to a piece of card and then stamped it again twice onto scrap card.  I cut the whole tree out and layered it on to the original stamped image with foam pads.  Then I cut just the snow layers and again added these with foam pads.

I coloured the tree with Promarkers and added clear glitter glue to each of the snow panels.

GDT Card for Scribbles Designs - Let It Snow


I'm back today with another GDT card for Scribbles Designs.

Today I've used one of the newest designs called 'Let It Snow' - you can find it here on the Scribbles store blog.

Although it doesn't show up very clearly on the photo, I used pale and darker blue Promarkers on the image - outlining lines already there.

I then used paper from Craft Creations including a bit of black behind the image to try and make it 'pop'.   The white Card Candi is from Craftwork Cards.

New from All Dressed Up Stamps - Christmas House


Today I'm sharing some more new release inspiration for All Dressed Up Stamps.

I've used 'Christmas House' which is one of this month's new releases from All Dressed Up - you can find it here in the Etsy shop.

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and used some tiny black gems to emphasise the middle of the flowers.  The paper I've used is from Craft Creations.

GDT Project for December Mini Crop at Creative Inspiration


This is my last GDT project for Creative Inspiration and it's part of the December mini-crop posted there today.

I made a little gift box - you can see the top of the lid above and this is a view from the side of the box:

I used an image from Imagine That Digistamp called 'Dachshund Christmas' which you can find here on their website.

The card and paper I've used for the box are from Craft Creations.

For my card I've used a digi stamp and papers from the We Are 3 Digital Shop.

The digi stamp is called 'Starry Eyed Santa' and can be found here - you get an outline and pre-coloured version in the set.  I used the outline version and coloured it with Promarkers.

I then used some red and some checked paper from the 'Holiday Letters' digi paper pack which is here.

The sentiment I've used is from the 'Christmas Greetings' set which is here.
