New Path of Positvity Challenge - Optional Theme: Shades of Blue

Our first challenge of the new year has just started on the Path of Positivity Challenge and this year the optional themes for our challenges are all going to be based around colour.

So for this challenge it's:

Remember you can link up any card which is positive, inspirational or encouraging but if you'd like the chance to win an additional prize then you also need to follow our optional theme.

While it isn't mandatory, we'd also love to find out how this month's colour makes you feel, if you'd like to share that with us. What kinds of feelings does the colour BLUE personally evoke in you? You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on this post if you'd like

We have two wonderful sponsors for this month's challenge:

and

I'll have a card to share using Scribbles Designs later in the month but my first card uses elements from a digital kit from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles called "Naturally Cool" which is the prize for the person chosen as the "most inspirational" in the challenge.  Here are the elements from the kit:

For my card I've used one of the designs from the "Solids" paper set and one of the designs from "Set Two" of the papers.  I layered one of the frames on to the patterned paper (using Word) and then enlarged the butterfly brad and put that in the middle of the frame.

I then printed out the papers and layered them with black paper to give some contrast.

The sentiment I've used is from the "Beauty" set also from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles - take a look here to see all her fabulous digital papers, elements and sentiments.

So how does blue make me feel?  I think it's a very calming colour and an easy one to layer together with different shades.   I love making men's cards and blue based Christmas/winter cards so it's a colour I use a lot.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Dream Valley Challenge - 'anything goes'
Crafting With An Attitude - 'anything goes'

Word Art Wednesday - 'anything goes'
