Another Brand New Stamp from Little Claire

Today is the second day of the launch of the brand new Garden Collection from Little Claire and today's stamp is called "Birdhouse Garland" which you can find here on the Little Claire website.  There's also a showcase of cards made by the Design Team on the Little Claire blog plus a chance to win one of the stamps - have a look here for all the details.

Again, I've kept my card very simple because of the gorgeous detail on the stamp - just some pastel spotted paper behind it and some white Card Candi.

A couple of challenges for this card:

crafts 4 eternity - 'clean and simple' (second entry)
Moving Along With the Times - 'blooming marvellous' (second entry)

I'll be back tomorrow with another new Little Claire stamp!

A brand new range of peel off designs has just become available from Little Claire featuring the Cutie Patootie characters, the Swirly Whirlies and Henny Penny together with a couple of other gorgeous designs.  They are really good to work with and have nice fine lines which pick up a lot of detail from the images.

Here are some of the cards I've made using the new designs.  First of all, some cards featuring the Cutie Patootie characters, Bert and Mary:

Next a couple of cards made with the Swirly Whirlies:

A Little Bit of Masking ....

Today it was my turn for the weekly project on the Little Blog and I decided to make a card using masking.  It's an adaptation of a card I made last year for one of the Little Claire classes and a couple of people asked me if I'd do some step by step instructions to remind them what to do.

You can find all the details plus the instructions and photos showing each step here on the Little Claire Blog.

I've used one of my favourite Little Claire stamps which is called 'Single Flower' plus some kraft and pale purple spotted paper.  I finished the card with some purple gems and a peel off greeting.

Some challenges for my card:

Cute Card Thursday - 'you're a gem'
Moving Along With the Times - 'blooming marvellous'
Crafts 4 Eternity - 'clean and simple'
One Stop Craft Challenge - 'under the weather'

Little Tommy Tucker ....

This is a birthday card I've made today for my cousin's little boy and I've used one of the stamps I bought when I won a voucher for spend in store at Nutcrafters - it was a prize on their challenge blog.  I chose three stamps from their new collection and this is one of them, 'Little Tommy Tucker'.

The papers I've used are from 'Making Cards' magazine and I've followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday for my card layout.  I'd also like to enter my card in the latest challenge on the Nutcrafters Blog which is 'anything goes'.

Going Out - Final Day of the Little Claire Men's Stamps Previews

Today on the Little Claire Blog we're showcasing the last of Claire's Super Six Men's stamps - this one is called 'Going Out'.

I've made two cards with this and on each one I've paper pieced the jacket and then decoupaged the scarf and the suitcase.
In both cases I've used gingham paper which I've also then used for my background.

I'd like to enter these cards in the 'anything goes' challenge at Anything Goes and 'new news' at Crafty Calendar Challenge.

Butterfly Sparkle ...

This card was made using the Little Claire 'Butterfly' stamp.  I stamped the whole image and then coloured it and then just stamped the inside sections of each wing and coloured these.  Then I put some of the Little Claire Glitter Sparkle sheet over the top before cutting out each section.  These sections were then attached to the main image using foam pads.  It isn't easy to catch the sparkle on the card on camera but I hope you can see it!

I kept the finished card very simple - some blue card and four self adhesive gems.

Some challenges for this card:

Sweet Stampin Challenge - 'glitter, bling' sparkle, shine'
Fashionable Stamping Challenges - 'butterflies or bugs'
The Crafty Pad - 'New Year sparkle'
Charisma Cardz - 'clean and simple'
Moving Along With the Times - 'things with wings'

Today's Showcase Stamp at LIttle Claire

Today's showcase stamp on the Little Claire blog is 'Later, Later' - perfect for the weekend!  It's another great image - this time a radio (the station is called Relax FM!) and a hammock between the two sides of the handle!!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and also used some kraft paper to paper piece the middle of the front of the radio.  The paper I've used is from the First Edition 'New Leaf'' pad - the sheets are double sided so I just turned over the centre panel on the card.

I'll be back tomorrow with the final showcase but in the meantime, here are some challenges for today's card:

Dream Valley Challenges - 'anything goes'
I Love Promarkers - 'anything goes'

DIY - New from Little Claire

Today on the Little Claire blog we're showcasing another of our new men's stamps, 'DIY'.  It's another excellent stamp for men of all ages and quite a quick and easy one to colour too which makes it ideal for last minute cards!

On my first card (above) I've decoupaged the little sign on the step ladder and used a blue and brown colour scheme.

For my second card I've used some wood background paper which I found recently when I was tidying up - I don't remember buying it and have no idea where it came from!  This time I've added some red to the card and have decoupaged the little sign again.

Have a look here on the Little Claire blog for some more inspiration from my fellow Design Team members and the chance to win one of the stamps too!

Oldie But a Goodie - 'back to work' (my papers are at least six months old!!)
I Love Promarkers - 'anything goes'
Sparkles Monthly Forum - 'new crafty goodies'

Winter Philip

Yes, I'm still making Christmas cards!  This one is for a card swap and I decided to use a digi stamp for a change - I've got quite a collection now but I often forget about them when I'm making cards.

This is 'Winter Philip' from Pink Gem - he's been coloured with Promarkers and then I die cut the image and matted it on to some blue card.  The snowflake paper is from Craft Creations and I finished the card with some Card Candi.
Some challenges for this card:

ABC Christmas Challenge - 'A is for anything goes'

Less is More - Birds

This week's challenge on the Less is More challenge blog is to make a one layer card with the theme of 'birds'.

When I first came across the Less is More blog, single layer cards frightened me a bit - the thought of stamping direct on to the card base seemed a bit worrying!  But now I enjoy making them and did some Christmas cards this way using a silhouette stamp.

I used an Elzybells stamp - one of my favourites of their designs because it's so simple but still perfect for lots of occasions.  The sentiment is from another Elzybells stamp set.  The image was coloured with Promarkers.

In a While ....

Today's showcase stamp on the Little Claire website is 'Later, Later' - don't we all wish we could say that sometimes?!  It's another image which could be used for lots of different occasions - there's lots more inspiration on the Little Claire blog here.

My card is a very simple one - I think the image speaks for itself so I didn't add a lot of detail.

Some challenges for my card:

Alphabet Challenge Blog - 'Y is for you can choose'
I Love Promarkers - 'anything goes'

A Little Bird Told Me ....

This has to be one of my favourite Little Claire stamps - perfect for Christmas and for winter birthdays and ideal for paper piecing!

I've used the image and the sentiment to make a birthday card.  I've paper pieced the little girl's coat and hat to match the background to the card - the paper I've used is from Craft Creations.
I've also used some blue card and some kraft paper and cut the mat for my main using a Nestability die.

A few challenges for my card:
Winter Wonderland - 'birthday wishes'
Cupcake Craft Challenge - 'born on a winter's day'
Clear it Out - 'staying warm' (plus using up holiday scraps - the card and patterned paper
The Stamping Boutique - 'use a die cut' (the mat under my image)

Sunday Morning - New from Little Claire

Today on the Little Claire blog we're showcasing the second of our new men's range of stamps - this one is called 'Sunday Morning'.  Have a look here to see a range of cards made by fellow Design Team members. You can also see the full range of stamps here on the Little Claire website.

I've made two cards with this stamp, both decoupaged but using different papers and shapes around the image.  The paper on the first one (above) is from Craft Creations and I also used some kraft paper and Card Candi coloured to match my design.

For this second card I've used some striped paper which I think is from Nitwits and a die to cut out the image and matching kraft frame.

It's another very versatile image which could be used for lots of different age groups and occasions.  There are another four to come over the next few days so make sure you keep checking back to see the rest!

Some challenges for my cards:
Anything Goes Challenge - 'anything goes'
Sparkles Forum - 'new crafty goodies'
Saturday Challenge - 'anything goes with blue'

You can see the full range here at the Little Claire website.

Today we're showcasing the 'Man Tree' stamp which you can see in the photo of my card above.  I used some kraft paper on my card together with two different papers which I think were part of a Nitwits booklet of papers given away with a magazine a while back!

Singing in the Rain .....

I made this card using the 'Splishing and Splashing' stamp from Little Claire - two very cute little hedgehogs in the rain!

I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday and also used three dies on my card (two circles and the scalloped border) so I'm also entering it for the current 'die cute special' at Papertake Weekly.  My background paper, which I also used to paper piece the umbrella, is from Craft Creations.

New Little Claire Challenge and Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine

There's a brand new challenge today on the Little Claire Blog and this time we'd like to see everyone make 'anything but a card'.  For all the details including the prize on offer and the creations from the rest of the Design Team, please click here.

I have to say that I have this month's challenge a bit more challenging than usual!  Apart from cards, I don't tend to make a lot of other 'things' so it took me quite a while to decide what to make.  Eventually I made a little storage box using three of the larger sized match boxes stacked on top of each other - perfect for storing Card Candi and other bits and pieces.

I stuck the three boxes together and then put kraft paper and lilac spotted paper round the whole thing - I also added some white ribbon to neatne up the edges.  On the top of the box I stamped and then paper pieced the 'Single Flower' stamp so that it matches the outside of the box.

Here's a couple more views of the box:

I'd like to enter my little box in the following challenges:

Pollycraft Monday - 'anything but a card'
Dream Valley Challenges - 'anything goes'
One Stop Craft Challenges - 'on the spot and ribbon'

I also received my copy of Carmaking and Papercraft magazine today - inside the front cover there's an advert for the Little Claire 'At Home' stamp set which is January's club set.:

Two of the cards on the bottom row are mine - the one on the far left and the one in the middle.  Further on in the magazine ( pages 40 and 41) there's a great selection of cards made with the Little Claire Swirly Whirlies stamps.

Pretty in Pink

Here's one of the cards I've made recently using a very cute Little Claire stamp called "And So to Bed" - it's one of their older designs and one that I've always liked.  The little pair of shoes is included with the main stamp and is really useful as an accent or as a stopper if you make an easel card.

I've coloured and decoupaged the main image and then cut round the shoes twice to use in the corners of the card.  The papers are kraft and pink polka dot both from Little Claire and I also used Card Candi coloured with one of my Promarkers.

Some challenges for this card:

I Love Promarkers - 'cute and cuddly'
Moving Along With the Times - 'spots and/or stripes'
DYSU - 'pink'

Oh Man!

This is a card I've made using one of the older stamp sets from Little Claire Designs called "Oh Man".  For the background I've used some kraft paper and also some brown patterned paper which I think is from Nitwits - it's from a pack that was free of the front of a magazine a while back.

I've followed the sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp for the layout and would also like to enter the card in the current challenge at Samuel Taylors Blog and in the 'lots of layers' challenge at Simply Create Too.

Less is More - "Predominantly Purple"

This week there's a colour challenge at Less is More and it's "predominantly purple".

I've used two stamps from Visible Image - the floral boxes and the 'friendship' word stamp which was part of the latest club set.  To stamp these I used a Purple Twilight Adirondack ink pad and then I layered the image panel with some Bazzill cardstock.  To finish, I added two purple nail heads.

"Huddle Together"

I was really pleased to win the Nutcrafters New Year challenge - I've received a £10 voucher for the store and am looking forward to having a good look through the site to see what I can buy!

Today's card is another Nutcrafters one - this time using a stamp called "Huddle Together".  For the background I've used a mixture of kraft and pink polka dot paper.  The "thank you" stamp is from Personal Impressions and I also used some Card Candi and small white paper flowers.

I've paper pieced the top of the umbrella, the girl's dress and the boots on the other girl to match the background - definitely one of my favourite techniques!

Here are some challenges for the card:

Nutcrafters - 'anything goes'
Passion for Promarkers - 'thank you'
The Paper Shelter - 'anything goes'
Allsorts - 'paper piecing'
Sweet Stampin' - 'spots and dots'

New Little Claire Stamp Set - "Georgina's Buttons and Stitching"

A brand new stamp set has been added to the Little Claire website today - a very useful and versatile set of buttons and stitcing stamps designed by Georgina who is one of the Little Claire Design Team members!

You can see the set together with a range of cards from the Design Team here on the website.

I'd like to share two cards that I've made with the set.  The first also uses the current club stamp set "At Home":

I used the cross stitch stamp from the set as a border at the top and bottom of the card and then stamped and cut out one of the buttons as an extra embellishment.

My second card uses the cross stitch stamp again, this time to create a patchwork background:

This time I've used the cross stitch border and corner cross stitch stamps to create a border right around the card and decoupaged the buttons at each corner again.  The main image on the card is the "Daisy Pitcher" stamp.

Some challenges for these cards:
Saturday Challenge - 'anything goes'
Shopping Our Stash - 'rewind to a previous challenge' (challenge 10 - buttons and blooms)
Papertake Weekly - 'anything goes' (plus new stamps)

Consider Yourself "At Home" - New Club Stamps from Little Claire

January's club stamp set from Little Claire Designs is called "At Home" - a great set which includes the main image plus three sentiments.  You can find full details of the set plus information about the club here on the Little Claire website.

The first of my cards (above) is the club card for this month - you get all the materials to make the card plus the instructions included in your club pack if you're a member.  It's an easel card made using a tall narrow card - I thought the shape of the main image suited this card perfectly.  The paper is green Bazzill plus some yellow gingham (not my usual colours but I love them!) and I've added some white Card Candi coloured with a Promarker.

Next, a blue themed card:

For this one, I've used Craft Creations paper plus some kraft paper and card - I stamped one of the sentiments several times across a narrow piece of kraft paper to make a 'ribbon' across the front of the card.

And finally, a pink themed card with some decoupage:

Some challenges for these cards:

Cutie Pie Challenge Blog - 'use a sentiment'
I Love Promarkers - 'anything goes'
Charisma Cardz - 'anything goes'
Simply Create Too - 'shape it up' (first card)
Allsorts Challenge Blog - 'new beginnings'
